Knitting a Future
Knitting a Future together with the IAIA Association
We collaborate with the IAIA Association to produce our inspiring Verdonce collection for social inclusion. The Knitting a Future programme supports people in Madrid who find themselves in vulnerable situations by teaching artisan skills, and raising aspirations and confidence. We help these local women step into the workforce and pay them fair wages.

Meet the women knitting a future
These women take part in the Knitting a Future project that you support directly with your purchases from this collection. In this way, with IAIA, we are all knitting a sustainable, plastic free future, for the good of the environment and social development.

Karima
Born in Morocco and living in Spain since the age of 13. She has 2 children aged 8 and 12. She is undoubtedly the happiest weaver in the group; perhaps because of her youth, but also because of her desire to learn. She’s always ready to get on with her tasks with a smile painted on her face.

Gumy
Bolivian living in Spain since 2006. Gumy has 5 children. The oldest in the group and considered the wisest by her companions. When it comes to knitting she’s the best at dealing with change, constantly innovating and sharing knowledge and tales. A tireless weaver and a model student.

Nadia
Born in Morocco and living in Spain since the age of 17. She has 2 young daughters. Despite her shyness, she is a warm and uncomplicated woman. Nadia is always willing to take on new challenges.

Zineb
Zineb emigrated to Spain from Morocco in 1996 and has 3 children to support. Her core values are teamwork, creativity and knowledge sharing. She is without doubt the most tender of the group.
